Mommy of 2 :)

First of all, let me start this post by saying I am so appreciative of my mom and sister who have been coming to our house to help me while Johnny is working this week!  I love y'all :)

That being said, today was really the first day I felt the pressure of being a mommy of 2.  Here's what went down...

I was feeding Sam {and by that I mean the girl was hooked on to me :)} when Joey wanted to come and sit by me.  She was being unusually fussy, and then BAM...she started to throw up her breakfast all over the love seat, and herself!  What do you do when you are hooked to a kid and your other kid starts to spew??  All she wanted was me, and I was occupied with her sister :(  Thank goodness my sister was there and she sprung into action!  She took Joey, and cleaned her up, cleaned up the love seat, finished feeding Sam with a bottle, changed the cover on the Boppy pillow, and more!  Poor Joey was sick for a while and ended up falling asleep on me for a two hour stretch :(  She had no fever, and I guess felt better once she woke up since she was ready to eat again!  Not sure what I would have done without Vicky's help today!!

Here's a sweet picture of my sister Vicky with her 2 favorite nieces!!

Since Joey had a bad day, I thought I would share some good day stories.....

So we are potty training Joey and the other day she was in her room with my mom and Johnny.  She looked at them and said "oh no, I spilled".  Johnny and my mom were wondering what she spilled because we don't allow drinks or food in her room usually.  They cracked up when they realized she had had an accident and had peed on the floor.  Usually not something we would laugh about, but when the kid said she "spilled", it was too funny!!

Joey loves to color and my grandmother got her some Color Wonder stuff for Christmas.  We have gotten her several books since then, and she just goes to town with the markers on the pages!  We got her a blank pad that you can use the Color Wonder markers on, and she has been drawing her own pictures.  She will draw something or take something that I have drawn, hug it tightly to her chest, and say "Oh mommy, I lub it, do you lub it?".  Are you kidding me, this kid is so cute!!! And yes Joey, I do lub it!

Joey is loving the pool these days and insists on calling it the "water park".  This is her motivation for not "spilling" throughout the day!  Daddy tells her when he leaves for work that if she "spills" he won't take her to the "water park".  They have been going pretty regularly, and she is getting pretty brave!  I've been staying in with Sam, but Johnny says that she is jumping to him now, and her cousin Mily gave her a floatie ring that she is using too :)  I hope we have a fish on our hands people!!

Well, that's it for now!  Here's hoping that everyone feels well tomorrow!!

Big Girl Bed and Big Girl Panties :)

So our little munchkin is growing quicker than I care to imagine!

Ever since we found out about Stout Seed # 2, Johnny and I decided that we were moving Joey into her Big Girl room over Johnny's Christmas break from school.  We have been getting it ready for a while and playing in it for a while too.  She has cute bedding, decorations on the walls, toys in the bins, books on the shelves, a step stool to get in her bed, and a chest of drawers!  The one thing we were lacking was a night light of some sort.  We wanted something like what she had in her crib, so we set out to Target and bought this super cool projector music thing for Joey's room.

As far as Joey is concerned, this toy and toilets that flush themselves are the 2 scariest things on earth :)  We turned it on for Nap # 1 and she freaked!  We thought it was just cause she was in her big girl bed for the first time, so we tried it again that night and she freaked out again!  We tried to just play with it the next day and she would push the buttons just fine, but anytime the projector would come on, she would dive into our laps and get scared!  So crazy.  So we decided to try her next nap sans projector and voila!  She is now a pro at sleeping in her Big Girl Bed!  We just tuck her in, read her a few stories, turn on her Lullaby CD (she's still listening to it Aunt Patti!), give kisses, say night night and it's off to dream land!  Who knew that a toy could cause such terror??  We have 2 weeks to get her used to her room and that way, when baby sister or brother comes in June, Joey doesn't feel like she has been kicked out of her room, and her bed for some person she's never met :(

Onto the Potty Training :)

Since she was 15 months, she has been frequently asking us to go potty.  We put her on the potty, and sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't.  We haven't worried too much about it since she was so young and still is!  It is a tradition in the Stout family to get socks and undies in your stocking for Christmas, so we decided that we would get Joey some panties this year.  We weren't really thinking we would potty train our little one over Johnny's Christmas break, but we got those little panties home and just decided to go for it!

We washed em up and the next day after Joey's nap, we went on our way...literally, we went to Grandma's...no diaper on that tiny hiny......or as Jo would say "no biaper". She did great and had no accidents!  We were over there for about 5 hours :) Go Joey!!!  We headed home and went potty, and put that hiny in a diaper for night night time!  Today was a little different story, but she still had many victories!  She had 1 #1 accident and 1 #2 accident.  I'd say that's pretty good for a 20 month old!  Tomorrow she comes to work with me for a bit, and I just know I'm gonna be paranoid the whole time.  I'm sure she'll be fine, but I'm just saying!

I will post pics of Joey's room when I am done with one final project!  Stay tuned :)

A Tale of Two Poopies :)

FYI, this story may be too much for some people, so if you do not like potty humor, DO NOT READ :)

Consider yourself warned!

So tonight Joey was downstairs and started tooting A LOT!! I looked at her and asked her if she wanted to go poopy in the potty, and she nodded her head "yes" (she has gone in the potty before, but only if she is in the bath and we realize that she is making the poopy face, and we stick her on the potty)! Back to Joey nodding yes....I said ok, and off we went to the big girl potty! Anyway, we got upstairs and took off her diaper and she pooped in the potty (we bought her a kiddie seat for the big potty a couple of nights ago)! Her favorite part was scrunching up her nose and grunting to push! I didn't know how else to show her, so this is our method :) So after that she got a bath as part of our usual nightly routine. Johnny put her in a diaper and we ended up playing with some toys and folding some laundry before bed time! So we were playing and then she started to tug at her diaper and walking to the bathroom. I asked her if she wanted to go potty, and she nodded her head "yes"! So on the off chance that this would work, I took off her diaper and put her on the potty....the kid did it again! She totally pooped in the potty twice within 1 hour! Here is a picture that her proud daddy took of her :)

For the record, this could be a fluke, but for this night, our 15 month old daughter is stinkin smart and goes poopy in the potty! Super funny, and she is going to hate us for posting these pics when she is 15 and old enough to realize that we did post pics of her on the potty!! Go Joey go!!!
